About Best Start Nurseries

Best Start Nurseries

For the very best start in life, our two nurseries, St Mary’s in Lutterworth and Hedgehog Hill in Towcester, offer a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and grow.

Our experienced, dedicated and compassionate staff are here to support your child as they develop, providing the care and guidance they need to thrive. Following the Montessori principles, we offer activities that promote independence and respect for others while encouraging children to develop at their own pace.

Our nurseries have a play-based approach to learning, with a focus on fun. This is called Awe and Wonder Based Learning, which sparks children’s natural curiosity and helps them discover the world around them with joy. Each nursery also has a safe, secure and well-equipped outdoor space where children can play and explore with freedom.

From babies to pre-school children, we help every child gain experiences and skills that give them a strong foundation for a happy and healthy future. We look forward to welcoming your child to one of our nurseries soon.

Aims & Values

Creating a child-centred environment is at the heart of the Montessori principles that we follow. Learning at Best Start is led by the individual child and their interests. We encourage their natural curiosity and desire to learn, using practical life experiences to help children develop in a way that they enjoy.

Awe and Wonder
Based Learning Method

No one sees the world quite like a child – and it’s this sense of curiosity and joy that we want the children in our care to feel when they are learning. We call this Awe and Wonder Based Learning, encouraging children to discover and explore the world with delight.

Taking it outdoors

Come rain or shine, outdoor play is a big part of Best Start life. Whether in our own outdoor spaces or exploring the local community, we support children to safely discover the world around them through hands-on experiences – including growing our own fruit and vegetables that we can enjoy for lunch.
